inspiration

At the moment, I’m bursting with inspiration. Mainly because of the new annual catalog with all those new and cool products, but also because I’ve been participating in so-called card challenges lately. On the world wide web you’ll find a ton of those challenges and if you would want to you could participate in more than a 100 challenges per week. That won’t work for me, but I do try to participate in one or two of those challenges a week. It offers a trigger to develop my card making skills and the challenge itself, but also the entries of the others offer loads of inspiration.

#GDP38 – Sketch challenge

GDP038

I made a sympathy card this week. The reason to send a card like that is never nice and because you often need one quite unexpectedly it’s nice to have a couple available in your card stack.

GDP38De basiskaart is Marina Mist.

The base card is Marina Mist. This card is embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder. On it I adhered a strip of Basic Black DSP of the Neutrals DSP Pack. The flowers from the Helping Me  Grow stamp set are heat-embossed in white on water color paper. I used the aqua painter and Marina Mist, Pool Party and Wild Wasabi ink to color the flowers. I then added some pencil lines to the paper and I cut away all the paper outside those pencil lines and the flowers. The sentiment (Rose Wonder) is white heat-embossed and cut out with the Rose Garden thinlits. As a finishing touch I added some rhinestones.

handtekeningP.S. Only after I posted this message I saw the card of Louise Sharp, from the Global Design Project Design Team. Unbeknownst to me, I made a very similar card.
