Hallo allemaal,

Thank you

The theme of this blog highlight is ‘Thank you’ because we all have someone special that we want to thank in our lives. In this case, I decided I wanted to thank my sweetheart. He’s just a wonderful man, who always supports me in whatever I do and he makes me feel special by showing his love for me every day . I had been looking for love quite some time and then I found him, he truly is the love of my life.

Project

Enough with the sappy notes, I’m going to show you my project for this blog highlight.

The entire project is based around this little notepad with a Kraft cover and dark blue binding. My sweetheart loves to compile lists, so I thought it would be a nice idea to give him this notepad.

I decided to embellish the front and make a complimenting card. In addition, I really wanted to use the Grateful Bunch stamp set and the Blossom Bunch punch. Which posed a problem, because those dainty flowers are not really manly… But hey, I do love a challenge 🙂

This is the end result! It’s not a real masculine card with all those flowers and the butterfly, but my sweetheart loved it anyway. Especially, the rough looking background.

For the cardbase I used Kraft paper, I added a mat of Night of Navy and did my stamping on another piece of Kraft paper. I sponged all the sides, cardbase, mat and front, in the corresponding colors to give it a grunge look.

To create the background I used Crumb Cake ink and the Gorgeous Grunge and Timeless Textures stamp sets. The butterfly comes from the Grateful Bunch stampset and the leaves also, I stamped those in Night of Navy.

I stamped the flowers from the Grateful Bunch set with Night of Navy on Typeset DSP to give it a bit of a manly touch. I punched out the flowers with the Blossom Bunch punch. I layered the flowers and ‘crunched’ them in my hand to add dimension. They were finished off with a Night of Navy flower center and a gold star from the You’re so lovely project kit. A few gold sequins and a wood element were glued on the card with the fine tip gluepen.

You’re so lovely project kit.

The notepad was pretty much made the same way. Except for the fact that I didn’t add as much dimension to the flowers, because he’ll be using the notepad a lot.
